About Studio Hindhede
As a sculptor and with 20 years of experience in art education and my own artistic practice, and having grown up on a farm in West Jutland, I have a deep-rooted understanding of and respect for the land, combined with a strong aesthetic sense.

As a landscape designer, I create gardens with a variety of routes and experiences. I see perspectives as a kind of scenography that brings more life and more experiences, both around the clock and throughout the year. I like to add sculptural elements, distinctive leaf shapes, and delicate colours set against bold explosions of colour. I am also happy to suggest paving, fencing, pots and garden furniture.

In my artistic practice, I explore volume and proportion in the planted landscape. My motifs are botanical phenomena: seeds, sprouts, seedlings – things that hold life before life begins. I studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

Studio Hindhede is based in Søborg, just north of Copenhagen, where I host open garden days and events – announced on my Instagram profile. Follow along here.

Method
In my design, the soil is treated as living. The microorganisms we cannot see, bacteria, fungi, arthropods and nematodes, give the soil and plants a better balance than artificial fertiliser. My approach supports the cycle that creates symbiosis between plants and soil, to the benefit of insects, birds and amphibians.
‍
As a classically trained sculptor I work with aesthetics, lines and space. I begin with the qualities that are already present, the beautiful old plants, the spaces that exist, and build from there. I like to add sculptural elements, particular leaf forms and colours, and suggest paving, fencing and garden furniture.
