City garden
Working with an Østerbro garden is a unique task, where the tall plastered or red-brick facades and old spruce trees already set the stage with a natural authority. Here, the goal is not to create history, as it is already present, but rather to meet it with an artistic eye.
The garden's existing elements—the plastered masonry walls, the wooden fence, and the monumental tree—are preserved and highlighted as sculptural qualities in their own right. Between them, we work with a tight, almost graphic planting scheme that does not attempt to imitate the patina of time, but instead contrasts it with clean lines and wilder planting that changes character with the seasons.
The ambition is a garden that carries the weight of the place while still feeling in motion—artistic, vibrant, and, above all, inviting to more insect life and butterflies.
